This
is our story.......
|
Cafe Acoustic began as a hobby in 1998 open only on Saturday in the gallery of Zercher Photographic. We didn't have a clue who would play besides us, but people came and were happy to have an open mic venue for acoustic musicians. |
|
After
our first year, we had so much interest we decided to move to the adjoining
space which previously housed a beauty shop. Trust us, it was anything
BUT beautiful! With the help of many good friends and family, we
managed to create a unique environment which up to that time hadn't been
available in St. Joseph. Even though we didn't serve alcohol, people supported
us and we made many contacts with nationally touring acoustic musicians
as well as local artists.
|
|
We
managed to pay bills even though we didn't sell anything, and stayed open
for three years. Unfortunately for various reasons, we had to close after
the third year. It was a very sad time for us and our loyal customers.
|
|
In
January of 2004 we had the opportunity to reopen as a "real" business.
|
|
The
Cafe is now open Wednesday through Saturday 6:00
p.m. to 1:00 a.m. We serve beer, wine, coffee, soft drinks,
and peanuts in the shell.
|
|
There
is no cover charge unless we have a featured performer. Open mic is offered
every night; the only thing you need is your instrument. We have a house
piano and the stage is fully equipped. We also have the capability to
record your live performance to CD.
|
|
In
the future we will be compiling a "Best of Cafe
Acoustic" featuring some of the great local acoustic musicians
who have graced our stage. We hope you will drop by and see the "alternative"
to the local bar scene.

Tune up your guitars, finished all those unfinished songs, and...We'll see you at the Cafe! Open Mic Acoustic Music every night! |
